Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before you decide.
Everything you may want to know about resurfacing, the process, care and getting a quote.
Is it safe?
EP Acrylic coatings are isocyanate-free, making them safe for both applicator and consumer.
Will my refinished surface look painted?
No. The EP Acrylic system is designed to make an old chipped, stained or colour-dated item look new again.
How do you actually do it?
A high-performance, purpose-designed acrylic polymer coating is professionally spray-applied over the existing surface.
Will the process cause inconvenience?
Resurfacing creates very little inconvenience compared with tearing out plumbing, pulling up floors and demolishing walls.
What surfaces can be refinished?
Suitable bathtubs, vanities, shower bases, ceramic tiles, benchtops, kitchen cabinets, metal, plastic, wood and laminated surfaces can all be considered.
What if the surface is damaged?
Chips and cracks can usually be repaired during preparation. If an EP Acrylic coating finish is damaged, it can be repaired.
Do you use dangerous acids to prepare the surface?
No. High-tech chemical cleaners and bonding agent remove the need for outdated dangerous acids.
How durable is it?
The coatings are designed for their intended use. As with a brand new surface, a refinished surface can be cracked or chipped if it is abused.
How long will it last?
A bathroom or kitchen fixture refinished with EP Acrylic coatings should easily last 5–10 years or longer with proper care and maintenance.
How do I clean my refinished surface?
Use only liquid cleaners that do not contain abrasives, bleach or chlorine. A care and maintenance sheet is provided after work is completed.
How long before I can use my refinished surface?
A refinished surface is normally ready to use 24 hours after work has finished.
How much will it cost?
Price varies with the condition of the surface. Refinishing is a fraction of replacement cost. A no-obligation free quote is offered in the Bundaberg area; other areas attract a travel fee that is refunded if you proceed with the job.
